Welcome!

In the beginning, we were happy. Well, at least we were soon after that “squirting out of our mother’s vagina” part, followed by a flood of blood and goo. Most of us had a good cry then, too, perhaps a vision of things to come. Maybe we peed on the doctor and nurses. But for the next several years, life was good! We spit up whenever and wherever we wanted, didn’t have to worry about food. Many of us were introduced to boobies right out of the gate! We could pee and poop on demand, and didn’t even have to wipe ourselves! Not a worry in the world when it was just us, Mom, Dad and maybe a doting brother or sister or two. And BOY were we cute!

But then we met other people. Kids from the neighborhood. Kids at school. Teachers. Other adults. We feel in lust and in love, and got our hearts broken. And just like that, life got complicated and, in many cases, MISERABLE!

Fortunately for us, in 2006 we were introduced to the Miserable Men. Shuli Egar, Bob Levy and Jim Florentine were on Sirius Satellite Radio in the beginning, produced by “Miserable Chick” Rachel, picking on callers and each other, and making us forget that our lives, too, were miserable. We could laugh at Bob Levy not being able to pronounce words, or Jim’s stories of pulling trains or upper-deckers.

Jim left the show at the end of 2007, but it just got better and better with the addition of Mike Morse, the legendary Al Rosenberg and the voice of the callers, Mark “From Jersey City” Byrnes. Together with a great behind the scenes team that included Raven, Teddy, Ragu, Paul and others, the “Fab Five” (sorry, Queer Eye, we were first!) created radio gold. They were lightning in a bottle, always deserving of a regular nightly slot, but never getting there.

Eventually, Al left and then Bob burned his bridge as only he can do, but even then Shuli, Mike and Mark carried the show on their backs until February 2011, when Shuli finally decided enough was enough, and he just couldn’t justify the time and effort it took away from his family and professional life anymore. And just like that, Miserable Men was gone.

We the fans gathered on Facebook for a number of years, and at some point several years ago I started posting a show a week from my personal archive for anyone who wanted to download and listen. Turned out that a lot of the fans were still around, and the shows really held up well! I went through the entire cycle of 2007-2011 once, and started it again.

I decided I wanted to get off Facebook, because (frankly) I was sick and tired of it, and I’m no fan of the company or the CEO. To do this without abandoning the show fans, though, I’d have to figure out something for all of us. This site, the Miserable Replay, is the result.

Here, you can play or download ANY of the shows from my archive, any time you want. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 365 days a year. Just go to the Episodes section of the site, find the date range of the show you want to listen to, pick a show and use the built-in player. (BTW, you can rapidly scroll through the show by moving the vertical line in the player left and right. It’s a good player, but that part isn’t so intuitive).

One BIG disclaimer: I am hoping that SiriusXM allows us to keep this site online. They have absolutely NOTHING to do with me or it, and haven’t broadcast the show since it went off the air back in early 2011, but THEY own the show, and if they direct me to take the site down, I will have no choice but to do so. I love SiriusXM, and I’ve been a subscriber since 1-9-06, and I will not argue with them if they would rather these shows not be available online. I only offer what are mostly my own personal recordings of the show simply out of the love I have for it, and wanting to share it again with fellow fans.

One last thing: if there’s a bad file, you have suggestions, or you have shows I am missing (not Best Of replay shows) and are willing to share, please email me (address is on the Contact page). Enjoy the Miserable Replay!
