After a two week holiday break, we begin 2010 and the final stretch of Rev Bob Levy shows with Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark in the house and full of energy and misery. Mike’s Marital Fight(s) of the Week, Paul’s voicemail full of lies calling off from the show (leading to some GREAT Paul impersonations), stories from the road, drunken Beetlejuice, and what the HELL is going on at LevyLand? All this and lots more on this wacky show. Miss you, Al!
1-17-2010
It’s only Shuli, Rev Bob and Mark on today’s blast from the miserable past. Mark actually complains about The Box coating herself in baby oil, Bob gets himself a ton of air miles, and where is Paul? Shuli kids around about Mike leaving the show, which is ironic considering Bob will be gone in about three months. Classic Mark Byrnes zinger: “The only thing more disappointing than his professional career is his sexual history.” Actually, it was Al who officially left, wanting to spend more time with his family and take some stress out of his life. Terry McNeely and Chris Johnson are special guests as the Miserable Men Comedy Contest kicks off on this show.
1-24-2010
Shuli, Rev. Bob, Mike, and Mark are all in da houze, and even Paul made it in on time! (GASP!) Does getting a snip job turn a guy into a chick, just a little bit? Does it decrease your range or firepower? Many disturbing vasectomy calls today, as Mike's wife wants Mike to get one. Is the “new Bob” any different than the “old Bob?” Worse? Brian Jones and Amy Carlson do their acts live in-studio in the MM standup comedy contest. The guys play the Yucko Marriage Game, or “What Lasted Longer: Yucko’s Marriage Or ???” All this and more in this chuckle-packed show!
1-31-2010
We’ve got Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark are in house for this week’s show. Mike fights with his wife about the fork she put out for him to use. HPE does a show with the boys in Harrisburg. Bob talks baby talk with Lebron (the dog). Susan the Spicy Psychic comes in with her husband Eric, and reads the boys. What horrors did she see? Does Ass Napkin Ed have a new girlfriend? These questions and more are answered in this otherworldly episode

Two weeks have gone by in our miserable universe since the last show, and it’s the four year anniversary of the show, and Valentine’s Day! Join Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark and celebrate! Right out of the gate, we have comedy gold: “If I had a memory, it wouldn’t be any good.” - Bob Levy. Also, Bob doesn’t remember Chrissy’s birthday, or the name of his fan group on the internet. Mark took The Box out for a Valentine’s Day dinner at Burger King. Mike’s wife of 13 glorious years wants Mike to get a vasectomy, as if abstinence wasn’t enough security for her. Chrissy asks Bob how his back is, and Bob flips out on her because he’s been off his meds. Mark and The Box attended Shuli’s baby shower in West Where The Fuck Am I, PA, where even a GPS doesn’t work, and Bob doesn’t like where it was held. Speaking of The Box, what’s with that snoring? Ass Napkin Ed calls in and wants to give stand-up a try. It’s a great start to a great show, featuring Amy Carlson in-studio to provide a female perspective, along with Joe Conti and Matthew Broderick (stand-up contest contestants).
2-18-2010
It’s THURSDAY, THURSDAY, THURSDAY night on the Miserable Men show, filling in for Scott Ferrell! Join Shuli, Bob and special guest Colin Quinn as the show begins a busy stretch where they do 8 shows in 11 days! Twitchels makes an appearance as well, as the boys dig deep to fill four hours (just over three without commercials) without the maniacal Mark Byrnes and the suicidal Mike Morse. It’s a whole different vibe!
2-19-2010
It's a Friday fill-in for Ferrall as the hardest working show on Sirius soldiers on with Shuli, Bob and Mark. Laugh to outtakes from promo cutting the night before, including Twitchels. Where are the most miserable cities? How about Alasker? Natural childbirth or C-section? Is Bob psychic? These questions and many more are answered on this lean, mean version of Miserable Men.
2-21-2010
Join Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark as they welcome musician Andrew WK to their den of misery. The Gay Psychic Warlock makes a return as well. Will Mike get a vasectomy? Should Shuli play an embarrassing tape of Bob? Find out, on this hilarious episode of Miserable Men!
2-22-2010
The hardest working show on Sirius, circa 2010, continues on a miserable Monday, filling in for Scotty Ferrall. Join Shuli, Bob,Mike and Mark as they do that thing that they do so well. This is the show where Bob gets smacked with a rubber ruler when he says a particular thing, and who knew smacking Bob with a ruler would be so much fun? Lots of angry Bob on this show as well (enjoy it, as the Bob era is coming to an end…), and we have the return of the Gay Psychic Warlock! Eddie Trump stops in-studio for a visit! All this and more on this ridiculous, insane show!
2-23-2010
It’s raining misery on a Tuesday night in New York with Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark. To recap: Shuli is way too happy to be with this group, Bob talks baby love talk to his dog Lebron, Mike’s marital misery knows no bounds, and Mark’s attempts to romance “The Box” end with him giving her a back massage and, probably, himself a “front massage”. Lisa Lampanelli and Jimmy Big Balls stop in as well. Enjoy this VERY funny show!
2-24-2010
Hump day misery! 2nd last day of this stint filling in for the fabulous Ferrall. Shuli and Bob are fired up right out of the gate because they are not getting the respect they deserve, as they can’t even get Bob, Mike and Mark into the security system. No promotion. No real money. The not-so-long slide to the end has begun. Mike and Mark are in da house as well, and after some initial bitching, things get rolling. And yeah, there’s more bitching (and Sour Shoes, as the house band, Dick Manitoba, and Derek from OutQ!).
2-25-2010
Shuli, Bob, and Mike are here to finish off a week of misery, and there’s no shortage of it, either! Mark is either off at a gig on a Thursday night, or trolling a local high school for some trim. Ex-Ted Nugent and Bad Company singer Brian Howe calls in to discuss what it’s like to follow the legendary Paul Rodgers. Sour Shoes is there as the house band. Shuli rips apart a caller (Corky from the auto show) for making accusations against our lovable JD Harmeyer. The gang plays “What’s My Misery?” with special guest Johnny Watson. Lots more shenanigans ensue on this fast-paced show.
2-28-2010
The crew is back on their “regular” schedule with Shuli, Bob, Mike, Mark, Ragu, Teddy, and all the shenanigans we’ve come to expect, starting out with Bob trying to read his own plugs. WAUWATOSA, you idiot! Shuli torments Bob on the road, Bob scolds Shuli for not cleaning up after his dog, and if he doesn’t pick up the dog poo, how’s he going to be with his soon-to-be baby poo? The comedy contest is down to the final two. And the winner is… ? All this, Otto and George, and much more!
3-7-2010
Show summary coming soon…
3-8-2010
The team is back for the first of four nights filling in for the great Scott Ferrall. Bob’s cranky, which makes the show that much better. Bob thinks GQ stands for “Gay Curious” (because curious starts with “Q”…) What is wrong with Bob’s sperm? Is he shooting dust bunnies? Lhenny and Chris from Arizona (and others) play “Name Dat Ting.” Laughs abound in this story-filled episode of MM.
3-9-2010
Day two of four subbing for Scotty Ferrall this week with Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark. Apologies, but no episode synopsis this week. You’ll just have to listen, I guess! MUHAHAHAHA! (Spoiler Alert: Bob is dumb and angry, Mike is miserable, Mark is snarky, and Shuli runs the show like a pro).
3-10-2010
It’s a miserable hump day filling in for the great Scott Ferrell as Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark talk a lot about where Bob is throwing his dog oop. Seriously laid-back show, folks, with some decent calls thrown in to keep things moving along. Oh, and we’re one month away from Bob’s last show, so enjoy the stupid bastid while you can.
3-11-2010
The Miserable Men conclude a four-day stretch filling in for Scotty Ferrall with Shuli, Bob, and Mike, as Mark is out with his band “She’s Only 14 And She Said No.” Sweet Lou Pelligrino is also on hand again to produce the show. Shuli apologizes to Bob. Why does Bob smell his dog’s paws? Bob is crotchety and the callers are brutal with spelling words for him to pronounce (it’s been a while…). Jason Ellis calls in. The Gay Warlock makes an appearance. Later on, things get gay with a special guest in-studio. Shuli has a secret, he got something done - do you remember what it was? All this and much more on this stellar Byrnes-free show!
3-14-2010
THIS FREAK OF NATURE IS JUST BEGINNING TO SWELL! It’s Sunday night in NYC, and the boys are back in town! Join Shuli, Rev. Bob, Mike and Mark as they take us on a journey to a world where misery is laughter, and laughter is misery starting with Bob reading spots. The new sponsor? Smegma’s Bar & Grill! Why did Bob eat cold clam chowder? What creepy thing does Mark do while The Box is asleep? And what does Mama Box have to say about it? How early does Mike’s wife wake up just to get away from him? Bob tells us all what “women should do.” Almost TOO much misery on this show!
3-21-2010
The “Rev Bob Levy Countdown To Meltdown” stands at six. Including today’s miserable replay, there are only six more chances to laugh at enjoy Bob’s work on the show! Join him with Shuli, Mike, and Mark as they explore the dark, stinky places… oh wait, that’s just Mark sniffing The Box’s ass while she’s sleeping. And yes, of course Mike has songs for that. What else is he going to do? Interact with his wife? On a serious note, Bob’s ex-wife is playing hardball with him in regards to seeing his son, and it’s killing him. Speaking of Bob, since we still can, he picked up High Pitch Eric as a houseguest for a while. What was the straw that finally broke Bob and Chrissy’s back and sent HPE packing? Lots of quality entertainment on this week’s replay.
3-22-2010
Colin Quinn is shot out of a cannon and in-studio with Shuli, Bob, Mike, and Mark as they fill in for Scotty Ferrall on a miserable Monday, as we count down to Bob’s last show. Should Mike get a vasectomy, and - more importantly - should the show call his wife to tell her he’s not? Is Mike wrong for not wanting to get his family involved with the show, while absolutely eviscerating everyone else’s personal lives with icious, hateful, yet somehow hilarious parody songs? All this, Ass Napkin Ed, the MM Parody Song Sweet Sixteen Tournament (Mike Madness), Mark leaves his Facebook account open (shenanigans ensue), and much, much more on today’s miserable journey!
3-23-2010
After today, only FOUR MORE SHOWS with Bob! I guess the future really wasn’t coming for Bob and, ultimately, the show. Our loss for sure, but we still have the miserable replays here to enjoy! Join Shuli, Bob, Mike and Mark as they fill in for Ferrell. Rahsaan was not too pleased with Mike on yesterday’s show… or was he? Mike plays a call with his wife… or does he? High Pitch Eric calls in, and has some ‘splainin’ to do. The Mike Madness Tournament continues. What annoys Shuli’s beautiful wife? Ironically, Howard played an outtake of Levy on the show, so Shuli has to play some even more stupid ones on MM. Which lasted longer, Yucko's marriage or ... ? Lots of hi-jinks on this show!
3-28-2010
Our Rev. Bob Levy countdown continues, with only THREE MORE SHOWS featuring Bob after today’s dose of misery. Bob is back from Arizoner, joining Shuli, Mike, and Mark for this week's shenanigans. High Pitch Mike joins them in the studio and Sweet Lou calls in. Shuli changes his first diaper. Mark discusses being molested as a child (as much as we love picking on Mark, this is just… Jesus H. Christ …). What are the craziest role-playing scenarios you’d like to try with your significant other? Yucko the Sad Friggin’ Clown calls in to talk about the Arizoner weekend. Mike's arch-nemesis Claire calls in, and Shuli destroys and dismisses him. Done deal. Great, energetic show!
4-4-2010
Levy is on FIYAH (read: prescription medications) as we start the third to last show featuring our favorite dotard! Joining Bob is the man who steers this crazy effed-up ship, Shuli, the brow-beaten and truly miserable Mike Morse, the creepy and quick-witted Mark Byrnes, as well as special guest Tracy Millman, who evokes fear and demands obedience from all she encounters. Hanzi calls in and is terrible. Abidibijam is when someone lies and you can sue them? There’s a 6.9 earthquake around Baja, California, and it’s just a little more explosive than Bob when he discovers Mike switched out the dark brown hair dye with ORANGE! Jeff Furlotte checks in with a really funny episode of “At Home With The Egars.” All this and MUCH more!
4-11-2010
The whole gang is in as we kick off the last two shows with Rev Bob. Shuli jumps into his DMV story, Bob is back from headlining a show in that mecca of comedy, Milton, PA, with Shuli and Beet, and Bob doesn’t know the difference between Wile E. Coyote and Woody Woodpecker, nor does he know that Abu Dhabi is a country. “Riley Martin” visits in a funny episode of “At Home With The Egars” by Jeff Furlotte (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Shuli Egar!). It’s payback time, as the Cheeto-colored Rev Bob has a plan for them all. It isn’t long in the show before Bob starts really losing it, talking about the Bonaduce fight, getting ripped off, etc., revealing his true, angry feelings, and finally, walking out. It’s nuts, but it’s real.
4-18-2010
This is it, my miserable friends, the last show of the Reverend Bob Levy era, with “Pink Bathrobe” Shuli, Mike “Air Fluff” Morse and Mark “There’s A Puppy In My Van, Come Look!” Byrnes. If you haven’t heard it yet, I gotta tell you, it’s just a solid, funny show, with Sam Juno joining the crew in-studio. All of the signs leading up to Bob’s departure have been revealed already, including the stress he’s been under losing visitation with his kid to his ex-wife, financial pressures, stress with the Stern show, blowing up at his radio mates and storming out of the studio last week, etc. And then there was the infamous cancelling of Bob’s plugs, which turned out to be the final straw for him. So no, there’s nothing special on this show that would lead you to believe it would be Bob’s last, even though it was.
Like most people, Bob was far from perfect, perhaps further than the average person. He was a guy who burned a lot of bridges behind him. But one thing is for sure: he could be a really funny man, and his presence was missed on the Miserable Men show after he left. Great radio chemistry is a rare thing, but these guys had it in spades. Enjoy Bob this one, last time.
4-25-2010
A new, yet unsurprisingly miserable day dawns on Howard 101 as the MM show takes flight without the dopey, angry Rev. Bob Levy, and they’re NOT talking about it. Join Shuli, Mike and Mark as they forge on ahead. The boys talk some stoner movies, and play a great Orson Wells bit where, well, you’ll have to listen to it. Shuli’s mom calls in as well, and she’s a hoot, giving up a big secret or two and she even takes a call from Jerry O’Connell! The new, and final, era for the MM show begins today!
